It is estimated that approximately 75% of all Americans are suffering from some level of dehydration. Summer and warm weather are over but the importance of staying hydrated is no less important during the fall and winter months. Dehydration can lead to muscle cramps and strains, joint pain, fatigue, poor memory and cognitive function, extra stress on the heart and kidneys and a decrease in quality of life!
So how do you avoid dehydration? Simple, calculate how much water you need by using the formula below I learned from leading sports and fitness doctor Dr. Eric Serano.
To calculate how many ounces of water per day take your bodyweight and simply multiply it by .6 to find out how many ounces of water you should be drinking a day.
Example for a 200 pd man would:
200 X .6 = 120 ounces or 1 gallon per day!
Drink up and stay hydrated!
