I need you to do something for me. Well, actually, I need you to do something for you. Locate your nearest calendar. Circle July 4th. Do you know what makes that day special?
It’s Independence Day!.
It’s a day commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America.
Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States.
Also, as I’m sure we are all aware, countless men and women of all ages flock to the nearest beach. Independence Day is, after all, the unofficial heart of the summer!
Now, please allow me to bring this back to you and why you marked this date on your calendar.
